A Lesson In Aesthetics: Los Angeles Hybrid Design Studio, AE Design

Alex KhatchadourianAugust 12, 2015

Adham El-Sherif, the designer behind AE Design, stands in his sunlight studio on Pico Boulevard, a now bustling row of inspiring local shops in LA. Over the past few years, he has worked tirelessly to acquire a varied client list and cultivated his Architectural Studies degree from UCLA to found his unique design studio. We visited Adham in his bright new space one sunny afternoon to get a eye behind the scenes of his carefully curated storefront.

AE Design, is very much a hybrid design studio. Its founder uses a mix of vintage and contemporary elements to reflect a unique fusion of each of his client’s needs and style, as well as his own eclectic vision. From custom furniture design, to interior architectural design, space planning, and interior design, AE Design stands as a full service studio accomplished in all phases of the design and architectural process.

Adham’s creative foundation is driven by innovation and focuses on designing impactful and functional environments. His process and style is painstakingly methodical, precise, and diligent. Throughout his storefront studio, perfectly placed vases and furniture – never left in the same place for too long – reinforce Adham’s attention-to-detail.

As an LA native Adham’s design style is strongly informed by California Mid Century Modern aesthetics, emphatically embracing the era’s clean-lined look.

Spend a few minutes inside AE Design’s storefront of curated furniture finds, lighting, artwork, and decorative accessories and it becomes apparent that Adham channels the ethos of the era’s architecture, interiors and progressive design spirit.
