Last April we featured Need to Feed, the killer first full-length for the steady lineup of Roz Raskin, Casey Belisle and Justin Foster. You may know them as Roz and The Rice Cakes, and we’re stoked to announce that they’re back at it with a brand new single, “Close Encounter”—another euphonic gem with lite layers of Roz’s vocals, Casey’s percussions and Justin’s surrounding bass. Enjoy the new beat exclusively with us.
From the rad happenings of Team Love Records (of Conor Oberst fame), “Close Encounter” will be available in the form of fifty limited edition hand lathed records (commissioned pieces by Future Oak Records, Pittsburgh, PA). Each record package features a screen-printed record sleeve printed by Hana Ko Designs, a print of the record artwork originally painted by Nell VanNoppen, a hand lathed record, MP3 download code of the songs and extra “classified documents.” What a deal. BUY YOURS HERE!
And for Providence locals looking to support the trio with an earful of their latest, celebrate their new release this Friday, June 19th, at the Historic Providence Public Library—a part of the library’s don’t stop the music series.
